What an exciting and busy week Year 5 have had! This week, Year 5 have had not one, but two trips to two of our local secondary schools. They have visited both St Aloysius College and La Sainte Union Catholic School.
Our first trip was to St Aloysius, where the children took part in some exciting activities! Year 5 got to join in a Science lesson, learning about all of the different food groups and how our body digests them (the teacher was very impressed with their prior knowledge). They then went on to make some delicious smoothies, using fresh ingredients and finally, took part in a Dragons Den workshop. During this final stage they worked in groups to try and sell their new product. It was a really fun morning and the pupils were fantastically behaved!
Next, we went LSU for a Myths and Monsters day. Year 5 were transported back in time to the Ancient Greeks and took part in some really exciting workshops. Year 5 took part in an Ancient Greece Olympic tournament, trying out some of the Ancient Greek sports, they all exceeded in the javelin throws. They then had a creative writing session in which they were able to start their own myth based on Hercules. But it didn’t end there, Year 5 then went on to try out their acting skills in a drama lesson and finished the day with an exciting art session.
Wow- what a busy week! We were so proud of Year 5’s beautiful behaviour and another huge well done for another EXCELLENT week!
