This week in Year 5 the children have been preparing to write a balanced argument, debating the question ‘should gorillas be kept in captivity?’
The children have now finished reading the book ‘KING KONG’ and have been considering the real life consequences of keeping gorillas in captivity. They have been researching and discussing some of the positive and negative reasons for gorillas being kept in captivity.
In their music lesson the children had a chance to explore rhythm using old Irish songs.
The children have also been remembering the story of Jesus’ crucifixion in Religion and have been looking at the depictions of the stations of the cross made by former St Joseph’s students.
