We’ve had a great couple of weeks in Year 5, with so much interactive fun!
We have finished making our Doodlers, after a successful design process where the children investigated circuits and evaluated the effectiveness of Doodlers. Check out the photos below.
We also completed a crafting project with the Reception children, learning about the planets by making models of our own. We used papier mache to create the (roughly) spherical shape we needed and then painted them. Year 5 had so much fun helping Reception to learn about planets and how to identify them.
In Geography, Indigo class presented their research about the sustainability efforts of the London 2012 Olympics. You can watch them by scanning the code below. This is part of their topic investigating our area of the UK, and the changes that have occurred here in recent times.
We had a pretty yummy science lesson, learning about the phases of the moon. The children made a model of the phases of the moon using Oreos. Let’s hope they remember their learning now that they’ve eaten the evidence!
We also went on a reconnaissance mission of our own this week, investigating the moon, in preparation for writing a formal report about our findings in English.
And there’s more fun to be had next week. See you there!
