In our Caritas in Action lessons this week we read and discussed the poem ‘No Man is an Island’ by John Donne. We discussed the questions –
- What does the phrase ‘no man is an island’ mean?
 - How does it relate to how we treat others?
 - What does it mean to love unconditionally?
 - Where can we find examples of Jesus living out this obligation in the Bible?

The children then prepared and performed a dramatic presentation of the poem.

In their Science lesson the children conducted another investigation in class. This time we were trying to establish whether burning a candle is a reversible or an irreversible change. The children established that as the process of burning a candle generated a gas (carbon dioxide) and produced a new material this was an irreversible change.

On Friday the children let their hair down, buzzed themselves up on Haribo and hit the dance floor for our official Year 5 Christmas party!
