Year 5 students had a fantastic trip to the British Museum. We travelled on the tube to Tottenham Court Road Station and then walked to the Museum. Students were incredibly engaged as they explored around the exhibition room and learnt about the Anglo-Saxon artefacts. We were all most excited to see the Sutton Hoo Helmet and Sword.
Earlier in the week, Year 5 students were visited by chemistry students from UCL. The visitors worked with the students to conduct an experiment which will record air pollution in our local area. The class placed marks on a map where they wanted the air pollution devices to be located. The chemistry students will do this for us behind the scenes. In two months time, they will return to the school and present to us their findings. The students will be able to see which location they choose recorded the least and most air pollution.
Year 5 students were also very lucky to be visited by Father George who taught a lesson on the importance of doing small things with great love. The lesson focused on small acts of kindness and how little gestures can be very powerful.
Congratulations to Abigail who was one of the winners in St Joseph’s Poetry Competition. She won a 5 pound voucher which she was able to use at the book fair last week. Great work Abigail.
