On Monday, Year 5 took part in an athletics workshop with Islington Sports Development Officer – Michael Peet. The children took part in a number of activities including a long jump, a javelin throw and a hurdles race. It was great to see the children so actively engaged with the different activities and they really threw themselves in to the different challenges! The children worked both individually and collaboratively to complete the various circuits and timed themselves completing the activities.
In their Music lesson the children were using percussive instruments to create a range of rhythmic beats. The children were counting in groups of 4 and had to drum both separately and in small groups to create a range of sounds and music.
The children also welcomed author ‘Ewa Jozefkowicz’ to the school and heard all about her new book and her journey to becoming an author. There were certainly some inspired children in Year 5!
