We have had an ‘out of this world’ week in Year 5!
We have had wonderful visits from Father George this week. It’s great to see the children so engaged with what he has to share.
Our science lessons have been anything but boring. On Thursday, we investigated the speed at which the planets orbit the sun. We found out that ‘the closer a planet is to the sun, the quicker it orbits’. Use the QR code below to see a group showing this through a fun interactive activity.
Then, on Friday, we learned how the Earth’s rotation on its axis creates night and day. We modeled this by using iPads as a light source, to mimic the sun, and balls, to represent the earth.
