Earlier this week, some members of Year 5 were given the opportunity to attend the unveiling of the mosaic artwork installed in Navigator Square, to celebrate the Irish communities historically living in the area. We recommend you go to see it!
We had our ‘Change for Change’ day on Monday, and children raised so much money for such worthwhile causes. We are impressed and proud of the hard work that Year 5 put into their stalls.
In Religion, we have been learning about Holy Week. This week we have learned about the arrest and subsequent crucifixion of Jesus. We used our detailed art pieces in the chapel to revise the stations of the cross and the journey Jesus took before he died.
Our Caritas in Action theme this half term was ‘Rights and Responsibilities. Luckily, we have just learned a lot about this topic so had great prior knowledge to draw upon. The children took part in debates discussing this statement: “I have a right to make my own decisions and if it means others get hurt, too bad”. Thankfully, they concluded that it is important to always strive for a peaceful community.
