On Wednesday we visited Kenwood House as part of our local history topic. In March we studied the history of the house, focusing on the timeline of events and the important people who lived here. Our visit inside the house helped to bring this learning to life.
We started our day with a walk in the sun (or should we say a trek). We walked through Waterlow Park and Hampstead Heath, before arriving at the spectacular Kenwood House for a well deserved rest. After a short break we set off on an orienteering adventure, using a coordinate map and some clues to spot important sights around the Heath. After our hunt we were ready for a picnic lunch and some sports in the sun.
Finally, we stepped inside the house to explore the historical buildings and admire the beautiful designs of Robert Adam. The children enjoyed putting themselves in Dido Belle’s shoes, imagining how she would have felt living here all those years ago.
We have a brilliant day out and made super memories. Thank you to all the parents for your support.
Miss Gormley and Mr Hannigan.
