Today, our Year 4 pupils led their very own Celebration of the Word, a special moment they planned entirely themselves on the theme of Remembrance.
They invited their classmates to reflect deeply and prayerfully, asking everyone to remember all those who have died, including soldiers who gave their lives in WWI and WWII. The children also encouraged their peers to think of a loved one who has passed away, holding them close in their hearts.
During the service, they chose a reading from Mark’s Gospel, focusing on the moment when Jesus ascended into heaven, a reminder of hope and eternal life. They also selected and shared different images depicting Jesus’ Ascension, explaining their choices and how the images reflected their understanding of faith and hope. Following this, they led a heartfelt prayer to remember all souls.
To conclude, the pupils gave a powerful message to their peers: “Enjoy every moment with your loved ones and keep them close always.”
We are so proud of the Year 4 pupils for their thoughtful leadership and the reverence with which they guided this meaningful time together.
