Our last week, before the Easter break has proved to be a busy, hard-working, and fun one to end the Spring Term!
We have continued exploring several scriptures in Religion and in connection to Holy Week. This is an extremely sacred week in the liturgical year as we reflect on scriptures such as: The Last Supper, Jesus’ Crucifixion, and Burial. We read through the scriptures, summarised and analysed them through discussions and then we portrayed each scripture through pictures and wrote about the significance.
In Science, we have explored different sounds and how they are made. We experimented with this idea through glasses and water, we know the longer the column of air (less water in the glass), the lower the pitch of the sound, and the shorter the column of air (more water in the glass) the higher the pitch of the sound. We then progressed on to making our very own pan pipes and discovered that when we blow on the pan pipes it causes the air inside to vibrate as it moves around, creating a sound.
Lastly, we ended our week with our school mass. Blue class led the mass and read their prayers beautifully! We also had a very exciting reward and Easter raffle assembly! Congratulations to all of the winners. We hope you have a joyful, relaxing and wonderful break for the Easter holidays!
