It’s hard to believe we have reached the end of Spring term in Year 4, and what a term it’s been! Author visits, Mental Health Day, Local History Week, World Book Day and the Gordon Brown Residential Trip are just a few of the brilliant experiences we’ve had.
We also managed to squeeze in some work too! The children have developed their writing; writing their own superb outsider and myth narratives, instruction guides and information reports. In Maths we have focused on multiplication and division, fractions and position and direction. We explored states of matter, the digestive system, rivers and the water cycle, Kenwood House, crime and punishment, football, gymnastics, hockey. We also developed our understanding of what it means to be part of a community and considered how we can use self-discipline to live more like Jesus during Lent.
We ended this term with the ‘Change for Change’ school fundraiser; raising money for numerous different charities and support for Ukranian families. The children enjoyed their ‘shopping spree’ where they splashed their cash on some lovely treats. Thank you for all your donations which made this event a great success.
This week we also had a Penitential Service with Fr George. The children wrote out their Lenten promises and presented these at the service, giving them an opportunity to reflect on and say sorry for their sins. We are proud of Year 4 for choosing various ways they can pray, fast and give during Lent.
Thank you for all your support this term. We hope you and your families have a lovely Easter break. We are looking forward to the Summer Term!
Miss Gormley and Mr Hannigan.
