We have been lucky ducks this week in Year 4!
On Tuesday we had our Christmas Winter Fair. We were able to play lots of different games, like put the nose on rudolf and beanbag toss, as well as making some lovely bracelets and jumping on the bouncy castle. We won lots of sweets and had some hot chocolate in the afternoon. A special visitor also came to see us and we told him our Christmas wishes!
Today we visited SeaLife Aquarium and to quote the children it was the “best day ever”! The experience was magical from start to finish.
It began with the shark walk. We hesitantly stepped across the glass floor and saw sharks swimming underneath our feet.
Next, we visited the mysterious creatures which can be found along the Atlantic coasts.
Then we made our way through the ocean tunnel, as shoals of fish swam over our heads. We really were ‘under the sea’!
After our underwater stroll, we found shark-infested waters! We faced our fears and stepped as close as we could get.
Then we found the coral kingdom, an underwater rainbow.
Rainforest adventure was up next, and we jumped into the experience head first.
After that, we had the chance to stroke a starfish!
Then, we headed to the polar region, where we saw penguins and got very close to a polar bear.
Finally, we felt the sting and saw a range of different types of jellyfish.
This really was a fantastic trip. The children were a credit to our school and immersed themselves in the experience by finding out a lot of facts. Thank you to the parent volunteers for their support, and we hope you all enjoy hearing about the children’s experiences this weekend.
