Year 4 had a fantastic trip to the Gordon Brown Centre last week and the children haven’t stopped talking about all the wonderful things we did. We spent three days at the centre, engaging in a range of outdoor activities:
We gathered sticks and learnt the skill of fire-building, carefully arranging the sticks to create a pyramid. Then we used the fires to make our own yummy popcorn!
We developed our skills in archery and took part in a challenge to work on our aim.
We faced our fears and climbed to the top of the climbing wall. Some of us even braved the ‘Death Drop’!
We put our balance skills to the test on the low ropes course. Then, communication was key to direct our partners through the blindfold trail.
We learnt the skill of cordage, making some lovely souvenirs to take home from our trip.
Some of the highlights of the trip were roasting marshmallows and meeting some furry friends!
The children were brilliant and gave every activity a go. They thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors and experiencing a range of fantastic opportunities. We think they deserve a good rest after a jam-packed few days of fun! Thank you to all our parents in Year 4 for all your support with the trip. We hope you enjoyed hearing about it.
