We have nearly reached the end of our History topic on Highgate Cemetery. Last week we had a visit from a Highgate Cemetery tourguide, Peter, who reminded us of all the interesting stories and famous people buried there. Peter was blown away by the content our children were able to recall, remarking, “you are all brilliant and extremely knowledgeable, you children know more than me”.
In order to showcase all their brilliant learning from this term, the children designed their own two-page spread in their books. This featured information about the history of the cemetery, famous people found there, as well as drawings and designs to reflect the wide range of interesting things we found out. The results were incredible! Have a look at some examples.
Year 4 celebrated their Christmas party this week and what a party it was! We are very proud teachers this term as a result of the hard work and effort our children have put in. They definitely deserved a special party.
We had dancing, art, games, movies and lots of Christmas sing-a-longs. We were also treated with some yummy snacks and drinks.
