Today was our first Caritas in Action day of the year.
This is when each year group explore different ways to live out their Catholic Social Teaching. Today we focused on ‘The Dignity of the Human Person’, exploring all the gifts and talents God has blessed us with.
The children thought about all the talents they have and how they could use these to make a difference in our world.
Then we read a letter Pope Francis had written to all the young people in the Catholic Church. He encouraged the young people; saying “don’t bury your talents” and “don’t be afraid to dream big things”. The children then thought about how they could put Pope Francis’ message into action.
After reading his inspiring words, we wrote letters to respond to his message. We explained what talents we had and how we were now going to use these to make the world a better place. We asked Pope Francis to continue to teach people how to share their talents.
Have a great weekend. We look forward to seeing you at our Harvest Celebration on Tuesday.
