Welcome back, everyone! We’re thrilled to kick off the new school year with our Year 4 students diving deep into the heart of our school’s values in RE. It’s been an exciting start, filled with thoughtful discussions and meaningful activities centred around our school mission statement and prayer.
In our first lesson of the week, Year 4 explored the importance of our school mission statement: “We learn, love, and grow with God at the centre.” We began by discussing what each part of this statement means to us and how it shapes our daily lives at school.
The children were eager to share their thoughts on how learning, loving, and growing are intertwined with their experiences. They understood that learning isn’t just about books and subjects; it’s also about growing as individuals with the support of their friends, teachers and God. They reflected on how love is not just about kindness but also about supporting each other and making everyone feel included.
Moving into the second lesson, Year 4 focused on embodying the spirit of our school prayer. The objective was to explore how they can bring the values of peace, love and happiness into their everyday lives and interactions at school. Through various activities and group discussions, pupils shared practical ways to reflect these values. They talked about small acts of kindness, like helping a classmate or listening with empathy. They also discussed how maintaining a peaceful attitude and spreading joy can make our school environment more welcoming and harmonious.
It’s been a week of deep reflection and enthusiastic participation. Year 4’s engagement with our mission statement and prayer has set a wonderful tone for the year ahead. Their insights and commitment to living out our values are truly inspiring, and we look forward to seeing them continue to embody these principles throughout the school year.
Let’s keep the spirit of learning, loving and growing with God at the centre alive as we embark on this new journey together. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead filled with growth, kindness and joy! Stay tuned for more updates and highlights from Year 4’s exciting learning adventures!
