Welcome back Year 3! We are so excited to have you back in school, learning and having fun with us again.
We returned to school on 6th January, the Epiphany, so we came together as a school community for Mass.
When we returned to school we reflected on our time at Mass and learned more about the story of Epiphany. The children retold the story in their own words and illustrated the key events. They learned that the gifts of the Magi were symbolic of Jesus’ Kingship and sacrifice. We reflected on the Catholic Social Teaching of Community & Participation, recognising how the Magi are an example of coming together to worship God.
We also jumped straight into some exciting new topics. In Science, we are building on our learning from Year 2 in our topic, ‘How Does Your Garden Grow?’. We started the topic by dissecting flowers and identifying their parts. The children were excited to examine each part and learn about the role they play in pollination and plant reproduction.
