Today Year 3 were lucky enough to be in the presence of English legend Montell Douglas. Montell is a British sportswoman and originally a sprinter and former British record holder for the 100 meters at 11.05 seconds. In 2016, she took up bobsleigh and became part of the Great Britain women’s two-woman bobsleigh team the following year. She competed at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Montell joined us this morning for an inspirational assembly about how she got to where she is now in sports. This was followed by a vigorous and exciting circuit session with Montell herself in the playground. Pupils learned about the importance of hard work and determination as well as the importance of following their dreams with a hunger to be the best at what they do. Year 3 were truly inspired by this English Athletics legend.
