What a fantastic start to the new term! This week, the children took part in an exciting science experiment all about soil. They compared different types of soil to find out how much water each one retained and how much drained away.
Using all of their scientific knowledge and enquiry skills, the children made thoughtful predictions and carefully recorded their own results. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm, teamwork, and curiosity as they explored the world beneath our feet!
There was a real sense of awe and wonder in the classroom as the children discovered just how different soils can be. They were amazed to see how some held onto the water while others let it drain straight through — sparking lots of questions and lively discussions about what might be happening beneath the surface of the earth.
Well done, Year 3 — what brilliant young scientists you are!
