We have had another highly productive week in year 3. In English, we have been continuing our study of the text Iron Man, in preparation for writing our threat narratives. Pupils had opportunities to explore the concept of ‘threat’ by getting creative through poetry. Pupils were using Kennings poems and simile poems to demonstrate their understanding of Iron Man’s threatening characteristics.
In Science, we started our new topic ‘Light and Shadows’. Pupils learned all about different types of light sources and how they are created. Pupils also explored the process of reflection and how it impacts what we see. In Geography, we started to look at the polar climate zone. Pupils had opportunities in a cross-curricular reading lesson to summarise and present information on the Polar biome. All pupils spoke with confidence and were able to articulate some amazing and interesting facts.
