St Joseph’s was lucky enough to meet and work with an athlete who has represented England both nationally and internationally playing basketball, Danny Evans. What particularly struck the children was how much Danny had to persevere to get where he is today. He taught them a very valuable lesson about working hard for what you want to achieve and having fun whilst doing it! As well as hearing about Danny’s life and career, the children got to participate in a fitness circuit.
We were also having fun in maths class, consolidating our learning about 3-D shapes by creating some ourselves. This helped the children to investigate how many faces, edges and vertices each shape had. They were very proud of their creations.
