This week, Year 2 made use of the outdoor area to look for things that were either alive, dead or have never been alive. They found many living things such as crocuses, trees, a chicken, worms, snails and even a shy little frog that popped its head slightly above the surface of the pond. The children also identified many things that used to be alive such as the benches, coffee cart and treehouse. They said this because the wood used to make them was once a living, breathing tree. Finally, the Year 2 pupils were also able to name some things that have never been alive such as the metal railings, rocks and play equipment. The children recorded their findings on whiteboards and shared them when they returned to class.
On Wednesday this week, the children attended ‘Scootability’ class and had fun improving their scooting skills in a traffic free space. They were given some safety tips, practised their scooting and even tried a few tricks!
