This week, Year 2 were extremely lucky as they had a visit from a dentist! They have been working hard on our new Science Topic ‘Healthy Me’, so today the dentist came to tell us how important it is to take care of our teeth. He showed us how to brush them in order to keep them sparkling and clean, and the children shared stories about their wobbly teeth! Generously, he gave each child a toothpaste to take home. The children had a fantastic time!
We were also lucky enough to go to the Book Fair on Thursday of this week. It was National Poetry Day so the children started their visit listening to Splish Splash Splosh by James Carter and joining in on the refrain. Here is the link if you want to listen to the poem together at home. https://childrens.poetryarchive.org/poem/splish-splash-splosh/. Year 2 carefully chose new books and shared their love of reading with each other.
In Religion this week we read Psalm 139 together, focusing on the meaning of the words and how God is at the centre of our lives. The children then wrote beautiful prayers in response to the psalm, highlighting things that they are grateful for in their lives.
We look forward to our next week of learning,
The Year 2 Team.
