This week, Year 2 had their final Geography lesson in their current topic ‘Seasons and Weather’. They learned how greenhouse gases and pollution are causing climate change and global warming. They also discovered that the environment can be badly affected as over time, animals might lose their habitats. They also learned that the weather may become more extreme with more floods, droughts, storms and melting ice. The children created wonderful posters to teach other children about climate change and how we can work together to look after planet Earth!
In Science, the children conducted an experiment to test which materials and items they could squash, bend, twist and stretch. We discovered that even metal spoons can be bent if you are strong enough! The children worked really well collaboratively to record their findings. Each group shared their results at the end of the lesson to see if there were any similarities or differences. Afterwards, we talked through why each group may have had slightly different results.
