This week, Yellow Class and Citrine Class gathered for a very special prayer service. The children focused on the important Catholic Social Teaching of Care for Creation, reminding us how precious our planet is. They sang “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” beautifully, filling the room with joy and harmony. The songs and prayers allowed everyone to reflect thoughtfully about nature and our role in protecting it. A massive thank you to all the grown-ups who were able to come and support us during this meaningful gathering!
In addition to our prayer service, Year 2 also celebrated Safer Internet Day this week. The children engaged in discussions about the importance of being safe while using devices, such as tablets and computers. They shared their thoughts on when it is appropriate to stay off our devices and why this is sometimes necessary. We explored safety reasons, such as protecting our personal information and being kind to others online. It was a great opportunity for everyone to learn about the importance of caring for ourselves and others in the digital world. Together, we fostered important skills that will help us navigate the internet wisely!
To further celebrate Safer Internet Day, Year 2 took part in a fantastic workshop where we created Digital Posters about internet safety. We learned important rules, like not sharing personal information and being kind online. Everyone’s posters looked amazing, and we can’t wait to share our knowledge with others!
Lastly, this week Year 2 had an exciting visit with a special guest who taught us all about STEM! We had a great time learning how science, technology, engineering, and maths can help us take care of our planet.
