This week, Year 2 have had a very special week! To start the week, we had the joy of Tami’s mummy coming in to teach us all about STEM and how she is an eye surgeon. We were so impressed, and many of the class were inspired to take on this profession when they are older. We learned about the importance of looking after our eyes and how technology can help us do that!
On Thursday and Friday, Year 2 took part in the wonderful Pilgrim of Hope celebrations. We really enjoyed the special Jubilee Mass, and we loved singing our school song together. Everyone’s voices were full of joy!
Then, the children looked at what a pilgrimage is and the special journeys that people may go on. We created footprints to represent our own journey, and we filled them with our hopes and dreams for the future. It was a lovely way to express what we wish to achieve!
Lastly, Year 2 learned about the special pilgrimage called Camino de Santiago. They discovered the special meaning of the scallop shell, which represents the pilgrim’s journey. Everyone then created their own beautiful scallop shell! It was a fantastic week filled with learning and inspiration!
