This week, we explored different types of number bonds in maths, focusing on number bonds within 10 and bonds that total 10. We discussed the various ways to create these bonds and examined their number families as well. To assist our learning, we used resources such as ten frames with counters and Numicon.
In Science, we built on our previous knowledge about the eyes. We coloured in our own eye colours and created a pictogram to showcase the different eye colours found in our class. We then analysed the data to determine the most common eye colour.
In History, we were taken back to the 1950s! A Victorian teacher (Mrs. Lynch) visited us, and we explored what school life was like back then. The children were astonished to learn that there were no interactive boards, whiteboards for phonics, stickers, or dojos! Instead, they used chalk to write, had single tables arranged in rows, and even mentioned something called the cane! We all agreed that we love our school today and wouldn’t want to travel back in time!
