This week in Year 1, we have been busy practising for our first Liturgy of the Words which will be taking place on Monday at 9.15am for Orange Class and Tuesday at 9.15am for Amber Class in our classrooms.
We have also been understanding numbers within 20, we have been using number lines and rekenreks to help us. We even used the game snakes & ladders to further aid our learning!
In Religion, we focused on two stories: Jesus being found in temple, where he was sitting among teachers, listening to them, and asking questions. His understanding and answers amazed those who heard him and we explored the story of Jesus announcing His mission, which told us how Jesus came to tell people that God loves them and wants to help them. He came to make people’s lives better by helping the poor, the sick, and those who are hurting. We created posters with our friends depicting the stories and also shared some of our own good news!
