This week, we welcomed in our parents again. This time to join us in learning about Online Safety! Before they arrived, we posed the question: ‘Why is it important to have device-free moments?’. We discussed what the term device-free moments means and the importance of it. We then progressed on to sharing rules that we all have in our own homes in regards to device-free moments.
We explored the idea that having device-free moments allows us give more attention to those who are speaking to us, or give attention to things such as homework and dinner. It can also include being respectful to those talking and it is a big safety measure to take when out in public to concentrate on where we are walking! Once our parents joined us, we worked on designing and creating posters to show the rules we have on device-free moments!
We also had a Three Discovery Workshop. We joined in with a whole school assembly to introduce the topic we would be working on in our classrooms and we developed our skills from the last time they visited us. We explored the use of digital posters around being safe online. We worked together in groups to create a poster which included the microphone feature on the iPads! Thank you to Alan for delivering an engaging workshop!
