We went on our first trip of the year this week! We travelled very sensibly on the tube and got the Northern Line to Waterloo Station.
Then, we had a short walk to Archbishop’s Park, we had lunch in the sunshine with our friends and then ventured to the playground! We also took Joey our Pilgrim bear with us on the swings and slides.
We saw some beautiful sights on our walk around London!
We later arrived at Lambeth Palace, where we explored the story of the Nativity. We had 5 different stations to go to with each one telling a different story. We heard the story of Mary, getting ready for a baby, The Wise Man, The Traveller and the Donkey, Elizabeth and the Angel and The Shepherd and his Sheep. At each station we were given a symbol to place in our pilgrim bags to take home.
In our second Religion lesson, we recapped the trip and shared our pilgrim bags. The children remembered the stories beautifully and it made for some great discussions and learning back in the classroom!
We would also like to say a huge thank you to all our parent volunteers who helped on the trip!
