This week in English, we read and analysed Albert’s Discovery, comparing it to Major Glad and Major Dizzy. The children began planning their own stories, carefully using capital letters, full stops, finger spaces, and ‘and’ as a conjunction to join ideas.
In Maths, we explored the part and whole of 5, practising how to make 5 in different ways and using 5 and more to build our number skills.
In Religion, the class created beautiful paper-plate paintings of their favourite things that God created, celebrating the beauty of the world. They also role-played caring for creation, with activities like recycling, picking up rubbish, and planting trees.
In Phonics, we have been identifying digraphs and trigraphs such as ‘igh’ and ‘oa’.
The children have done an amazing job settling in, and we are excited for all the learning adventures waiting for us in the second half of the term!
