This week we were blessed with the presence of Father George in our classrooms. We began discussing the events of the Nativity story and we were thrilled to tell Father George all about our trip to Lambeth Palace! He was super impressed with everything we had learned and we showed Father George our purple pilgrim bags, as well as some photos from our day. Father George then told us about the Nativity story in even more detail and explained how St Joseph’s Church will be holding a special event on the 8th December which will include Mary and a real donkey – he looks forward to seeing as many of you there as possible!
Children in both classes also lead our prayer and liturgy with a focus on the story of Jonah and The Big Fish. In this story, the focus was forgiveness. God forgave Jonah and forgave the people. We discussed that by saying sorry we will be forgiven and we can be in peace as one big family.
In PE, we have been focusing on ball skills. This week, we explored throwing and catching particularly, looking at the underarm throw and the technique required to be successful.
