This week in Reception, we have been enjoying retelling the story ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’. We were very excited to find some Bear footprints in our classroom and a present from the bear! It was a copy of his book and a note asking us to help him learn his story and tell it in the correct order. We used actions to help us remember the words from the story. We followed a story map and drew our own story maps using symbols, copying words and sensory collage materials. We even made instruments to add sounds to the story! What a busy week!
In maths, we have been focusing on pattern making and are now moving on to numbers 1, 2 and 3! We have been collecting small groups of 1, 2 or 3 objects, counting them by touching each one carefully, recognising the number and having a go at writing the number!
