This week in Year 1, children had the opportunity to become an author and create their very own book. They decided to base their writing on the traditional tale of the Gingerbread Man or write their own adapted version, where the Gingerbread Man was stuck in St.Josephs. To go along with the beautiful and exciting writing, Year 1 produced magnificent illustrations to really make their books stand out.
Maths provided a new challenge this week for Year 1. Children were tasked with measuring and estimating length using various non-standard units of measurement found in the classroom. Before you knew it, children were led on the floor being measured by shoes and even children measuring the length of the carpet using themselves.
