Today in Year 1 we celebrated Victorian day!
Throughout the day children participated in various Victorian based activities. When the children came in they found their teachers had been replaced by Master Bhol and Lady Stapleton, the strictest Victorian teachers. Children had to memorise a chant and write on their Chalk boards.
In Maths children made a pictogram to represent data showing what different classes in the schools favourite Victorian food were or Victorian playground games.
With this the children also did some cooking, they prepared and cooked Victorian apple Jelly, they used the bridge and dam techniques to cut the apple and stewed them. After this they pushed the apple through a sieve and finally they added gelatine and water and heated it. After this they poured it into trays to set and enjoyed it later that afternoon…..
Orange class will be doing this next Friday.
Below are a selection of photos from the day, yet again thank you for the fantastic costumes!
