It’s been a fantastic return to school this week as children have been getting to know Miss Yeoman, drawing and mark making pictures to tell all about them. We have used caterpillars to do lots of counting and matching collections of objects and bodies to numbers. We spoke about the types of food the Very Hungry Caterpillar ate and decided that some foods the caterpillar ate are either ‘every day foods’ or ‘sometimes foods’. We then looked in recipe books to ‘cook’ the Very Hungry Caterpillar some delicious meals with playdough. We have also started to practise writing our name by tracing their name with a whiteboard marker. On Friday we did a nature walk to celebrate Caritas Day in theme with stewardship, where we noticed and spoke about God’s beautiful creations and how we can care for the gifts of nature that God has given us.
