What a fabulous time we had at the Ugly Bug Ball today! Reception and Nursery were transformed into all sorts of mini beast creatures. The children participated in many different activities as they moved from class to class. The children learnt many different bug songs, role played with a forest green screen, made spider crafts, read stories and explored mini beast small worlds (unfortunately it was too wet and windy to hunt for mini beasts outdoors!). After lunch, we created ladybird biscuits and took them to the Ugly Bug Ball in the hall. We ate our ladybird biscuits and shared them with Nursery, who shared their fruit caterpillars with us! Who knew eating bugs could be so yummy?! After that, we shared the dances we had learnt and then enjoyed dancing the afternoon away. What a busy but fun day!
The aim of the Ugly Bug Ball was to raise much needed money for the Kafunjo Project which supports children in Uganda to buy food, clothing and books. The children were asked to bring £1.50 or as much as they would like to contribute to support the project. It is not too late to donate, all donations gratefully received.
