Do you know who invented the first aeroplane that could fly? Today we learnt all about it! We jumped in our time machines and flew back to the year 1903 where we met Orville Wright. He read from his diary and told us all about how his brother Wilbur Wright and himself loved to invent. He then told us all about December 17th 1903 which was the first day their flying invention flew in the air…… for 12 seconds! He told us fun facts about how the only reason he was the first person to fly was because their father made them promise never to fly together as he didn’t want to lose two sons in an accident. Orville Wright explained that they had to flip a coin on the day to see who would fly. we then took part in different activities such as writing a diary entry as Orville Wright, writing questions to Orville Wright and acting out the day of the first flight!
