Wow! What a morning we have had! The children travelled back to the time of World War 2 in the 1940s and took us on an emotional journey of a British family, who were separated due to war. The evacuee children left for the countryside seeking new temporary homes. Our children educated us, through narration and poetry, of the important roles both women and men played during the 6 year fighting period, in ensuring life at home remained stable, despite challenging.
Thankfully the assembly had a happy ending, with the separated family re-uniting at home, before the children sang and danced beautifully to a classic war song.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all parents/carers who helped to prepare costumes, we can all agree that they looked amazing!
Well done Diamond Class!
