Last month, St Joseph’s Choir had the honour of opening the Department for Education’s annual awards ceremony. The ceremony was held at Lancaster House, commissioned in 1825 by the ‘grand old’ Duke of York. York House, as it was then known, was a hub of social and political life throughout the 19th century. It was a wonderful stage for our choir to perform in front of approximately 150 professionals. The children were full of excitement and anticipation whilst waiting in the state drawing room and sipping on refreshments generously provided by the event organisers.
The children sang beautifully and everyone in attendance enjoyed an uplifting performance.
Here are a few of the comments from people in the audience.
“Lovely singing and music by the children. Such blended voices”
“When I grow up” is the ‘graduation’ song my three children have sung when they have completed nursery year at their school. Real emotional memories here.”
“This is so lovely, fantastic songs and singers.”
Please watch below and marvel with us at the talent of our wonderful choir.
