We have had a wonderful week in Nursery exploring our fascinating world around us. The children have been engaged in a wide range of activities including freeing crabs from the frozen water using hammers and range of tools. Also, the children have explored colour and how colours can be changed with foam paint to create their own space pictures and planets. We heard some fantastic vocabulary as the children were describing what they could see and the texture of the objects they could touch. The children have also been writing about characters using torches, retelling and role playing their key text and describing the ‘beginning’, ‘middle’ and ‘end’ of our story. Next week Pearl Class will be learning about Princesses and Knights and White Class will be learning about Fairies, Pixies and Dragons- we can’t wait!
In phonics this week we explored the /i/ and /d/ phonemes (sounds).
