Year 2 had an amazing assembly on child safety that really made us think.
The NSPCC’s lovable mascot, Buddy, paid us a visit to help us recognise an unsafe situation and who we should speak to if we are feeling unsafe. The children were given scenarios of different situations and the children worked together to figure out a solution.
The children learned that they should always go to a trusted adult, either a parent, teacher or relation, if they ever need to speak about a situation that has made them feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
The children also learned a fun way to remember the Childline phone number so that they can use it in times of need. Teachers also discussed when we would need to use the number or if we could just speak to a trusted adult.
