This morning, our whole school gathered in St Joseph’s Church for a very special Mass to celebrate the Feast of St Paul of the Cross. The celebration was beautifully led by our Pupil Chaplains, who helped guide us in prayer and reflection as we came together as a school family.
As a Passionist school, this feast holds deep meaning for us. St Paul of the Cross devoted his life to helping others understand the love of God revealed through the Cross — reminding us that God’s love is always present, even in times of challenge.
During his homily, Father George shared a wonderful image to help us understand this message more deeply. He spoke about a trapeze artist at a circus who must trust the catcher to reach out and hold them safely. Father George reminded us that God is the greatest catcher — always there to reach out and hold us when we let go and trust Him. Just like the trapeze artist, we are called to reach out to God in faith and to embrace the Cross as St Paul of the Cross did, finding love, strength, and hope in Jesus.
It was a joyful and faith-filled morning, and we are grateful to our pupil chaplains, Father George, and everyone who helped make this celebration so meaningful.
