Reception have really excelled themselves this week, even though it’s the last week of term, the children have produced some amazing learning and really kept up their hard work!
In Phonics, we have now learnt all of our Phase 2 sounds! This week we have been getting messy and practising writing our words in interesting ways such as in milk, shaving foam and of course in the snow! We have also been drawing self portraits and labelling it with our tricky word ‘me’. In addition, we have applied our amazing phonics learning to writing and making our own Valentine’s day cards for our loved ones!
In maths, we worked hard on finding pairs. We went on a pairs hunt around our homes and at school and practised matching socks, shoes and dot patterns to make pairs. We have also been using a tens frame to help us with recognising amounts, adding and taking away!
This week we celebrated Safer Internet day, where we listened to a story about Detective Digiduck and found out some different ways that we could check if information on the interest was true or not. We made posters displaying our top tips for finding reliable information online.
We are all looking forward to a relaxing break after such a fantastic half term!
