This week in Reception, we have started to focus on using technology. We introduced the ipads and as a class we came up with some important rules. We then learnt how to use the camera app to take photos. The children are now able to use the ipads independently to take photos of work they are proud of, excellent examples of behaviour and anything to do with our topic learning. As we have also been learning about ‘growing’ some children decided to take pictures of things that have grown and we went on a hunt around our outdoor area for signs of growth. We have also planted beans this week, which we are looking after everyday by checking they have enough water. We have already observed some changes and some children’s beans have cracked open and started sprouting! We are very excited to see more of the beans start to sprout and what will happen next.
One of our sound in phonics this week has been ‘ch’. The children have learn the action of the ‘choo choo train’ and have practised blending the ‘ch’ sound and recognising tricky words to read captions on tickets!
