November is the month of Remembrance, and in LKS2 today we had a day filled with fun activities for the children to explore the reasons why we celebrate Remembrance Day.
With Mr Charles, the children learnt about the Battle of Britain, creating their very own spitfire models and writing about life as a pilot in the air force.
With Miss Slattery, the children explored the question ‘What is peace?’ through lots of shared discussion and wrote their own poetry around the theme of peace.
With Mr Ferry and Mr Bhol, the children got to participate in some green screen filming and re-enacted the Christmas Truce (video coming soon…).
On Thursday, Blue Class also celebrated the month of remembrance through their class mass. Thank you to all the parents who came, the children did a fantastic job with all their readings and singing. Our class remembrance wreath is now on display in the LKS2 area, thank you to all the parents who added their own special messages of remembrance.
