Reception have had such a lovely day, reading so many wonderful books. The children all got to decorate a wooden spoon based on their favourite book character. They had lots of conversations about why they liked the character and the book it was from.
They also wrote their own books – remembering to include where it was set, the characters and a problem. They children enjoyed sharing these with their friends. Other children designed a book cover based on their favourite book. They used the book for inspiration and wrote the title.
The highlight of the day was going to the tree house, to have hot chocolate while the adults read their favourite books to children. “The Book With No Pictures” was so popular that we had to read it again.
