This week Reception have started their new theme ‘Imagine’. They listened to the story Stanley’s Stick before going for a walk in the woodlands to collect their own stick. They then used any creative resources they wished to turn it into anything they wanted. They used their imaginations to make grass, motorbikes, people, wands, broomsticks and many more.
In Red class the children have used their imaginations to set up several new small world play areas of their choice, including a beach, a castle and a city.
In maths Reception have been recapping making repeating patterns. The challenge was to make a pattern in a circular shape or in a spiral.
We have been blown away with the writing Reception children are doing during our morning soft start. They are working really hard to use all the skills they have learnt this year independently.
