We have had a lovely week full of Easter fun in Reception. The children have continued to learn all about the events of Holy Week and how these lead up to the very special day where Jesus rose.
Reception learnt that we eat hot cross buns at Easter as they remind us of the cross that Jesus died on and the spices that were used to embalm Him at His burial. There were mixed reviews when we put the buns to the taste test.
Reception learnt that at Easter we think about new life and how eggs remind us of this. They used their cooking skills to make delicious Easter nest cakes. The big smiles on the chocolate covered faces were a definite sign that the cakes were a success.
Finally, amid the showers Reception were able to enjoy the spring sunshine when we headed to Waterlow Park for a minibeast hunt. The children had a great time exploring the park and using their scientific equipment to search for and observe the minibeast habitats. Thank you to all the parent and carer volunteers that kindly accompanied us on our trip.
Sending you Easter smiles and warm wishes for a wonderful and blessed celebration. May God’s love and blessings be with you this Easter and always.
